Technology Outreach Specialist
Job Description

The Technology Outreach Specialists (TOS) will be trained to do educational outreach at the point of service agencies, community events and college workshops through direct service delivery in clinics, health events, food distribution and learning centers following our much-lauded promotor model of cultural and language competent outreach. The outreach presentations and materials will be done in English and Spanish and will be tailored to the needs of the participants.

The TOS will be deployed to raise broadband service awareness and enrollment in broadband training programs. The TOS will conduct follow-up canvassing to monitor broadband service adoption levels. The TOS will conduct focus groups among families that adopt and families that did not adopt to determine potential barriers.

The TOS will work with the technology instructors to deliver computer/broadband training workshops to primarily Latina college students, at 20-plus colleges and universities throughout Northern California where CLF has established partnerships. These colleges and universities are located throughout the greater Northern California region; including both urban (i.e., Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, East Bay, Sacramento) and rural locations (Solano County, Santa Rosa, Napa/Sonoma, Amador County, etc.)

The TOS will ensure that the project delivers computer literacy and broadband access instruction to primarily Latino middle school students participating in the Youth Adelante Math Achievement After-School Program run by CLF in partnership with El Concilio of San Mateo County in the Redwood City area.

The TOS job duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Attend the required training
  • Develop outreach plan
  • Attend and set up training sites at community fairs, events, community organizations
  • Set up efficient reporting methods to ensure clear and precise reports
  • Meet the established outreach and education goals
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with community organizations

This is an entry-level position for the duration (18 months) of Broadband and Awareness project. $12/ hour, Regular, full time with medical, dental, vacation, sick leave benefits.
