Pictures from our 2011 Tacones y Rebozos Event

Our 2011 Annual Tacones y Rebozos Fundraising Event was held at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco on July 14, 2011. Judging our Rebozos & Tacones contest were the following celebrity judges:

  • Michele Serros, Named by Newsweek as "One of the Top Young Women to Watch for in the New Century," Michele Serros is the author of Chicana Falsa and other stories of Death, Identity and Oxnard, How to be a Chicana Role Model, Honey Blonde Chica, and her newest young adult novel, ¡Scandalosa!
  • Carmen Lomas Garza, Chicana narrative artist who creates images about the everyday events in the lives of Mexican Americans based on her memories and experiences in South Texas. Carmen Lomas Garza's is known for commitment to the themes of family and diversity and achievement in the worlds of art and children's publishing.
  • Ana Teresa Fernandez, "My work in painting, performance and installation demonstrates how women identify their strengths and sensuality in performing labor in which there is no visible economic or social value, and most often is seen as dirty."
