A Message from our Executive Director

January 2017

Dear CLF familia,
As many of you undoubtedly share our feelings of fear and anger after the outcome of our elections, we hope you also share our determination to stand together to resist and to defend our families and our communities.
Let us move forward to rejoice and celebrate each other's spirit. Let us not have our joy be taken away from us. Since November 8th, I have found strength in your words, in the reminders of our lineage of struggle, perseverance, resistance and victories. And nowhere have I found more hope and inspiration than from our very own CLF sister board members, the current scholarship awardees and our Alumnae.

The Chicana Latina Foundation (CLF) is a non-profit organization which promotes professional and leadership development in Latinas attending college in the Greater Bay Area. CLF is committed to inclusivity and assuring that CLF recipients represent the diversity of our community, including those who identify as Chicana, Latina, Indigena, Afro-Latina, LGBTQ, among others. The Foundation's mission is to empower CLF recipients through their personal, educational, and professional advancement. With 40 years of service, CLF has provided hundreds of scholarship awards to college-level women throughout the greater Bay Area and since 2006 over 400 of our recipients have attended our pioneering Leadership Institute.

We are humbled and thankful for the four decades of community support that has allowed us to realize our mission to empower the future generations of Latina leaders.
This year's historic commemoration will be an evening of joy, strength, and unity. We invite you to join us to applaud this year’s cohort – 40 Latina scholars! This gathering will also be a celebration of our community's strength and resilience.
