With the community's support over the past 35 years, CLF has become a beacon of hope to hundreds of Latina college students who otherwise would not have been able to continue their college education.
Our scholarship program began modestly 35 years ago, providing scholarships of $200, and then $500. Since 1986 we have been providing an average of 30 scholarships annually, each in the amount of $1500-$3000.

The 2012 Scholarship Application is currently available. For eligibility and application information,

In addition to its signature scholarship program, CLF has developed a Leadership Institute for the scholarship awardees which has become a model of leadership development. At the Institute, students find their own voice and learn to speak individually and collectively in pursuit of academic excellence, public advocacy and social justice for their communities.
CLF has engaged in the preparation of our youth by developing a family-centered, community conscious after school program for 7th and 8th graders in low income schools in the peninsula. Youth Adelante has been serving hundreds of middle school students by providing math tutoring, leadership development and culturally relevant developmental experiences.
Recently, CLF has also been at the forefront of closing the digital divide in our low income rural communities by providing free computers, connecting people to the internet and training first time computer users in basic computer literacy skills.
It has been your support which has made all of this important work possible. The community of corporate sponsors, education partners, sister organizations and individuals like you have provided the necessary fuel for this little engine that could. Please join us on October 12, 2012 as we celebrate our success and re-affirm our commitment to empower our communities.
